Does God require Sabbath-keeping of Christians? Should Christians keep the Sabbath since it is one of the Ten Commandments?

I will not tell you what to do. I know God spoke for it, and so remember the Sabbath and rest on it which would be pleasing to God, with coming to God’s word, knowing Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath as he said.

Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16–17)
Legalism is the religion of human achievement. It argues that spirituality is based on Christ plus human works. It makes conformity to manmade rules the measure of spirituality. Believers, however, are complete in Christ, who has provided complete salvation, forgiveness, and victory. Therefore, Paul tells the Colossians, let no one act as your judge. Do not sacrifice your freedom in Christ for a set of manmade rules. Inasmuch as “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (Rom. 10:4), to become entangled again in a legalistic system is pointless and harmful. Paul reminded the Galatians, who were also beguiled by legalism, “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Gal. 5:1).

Notice, I do not tell you what to do. As I said. Besides, I see passages in the Bible speaking for it, and nothing in the Bible speaking for observing Sunday, or just observing the first day. So it should not be suggested that I judge you. But then you should not judge me, for I was not saying anything for legalism, so what I say should not be defined that way. Choose as you will. That is with no judgment from me. Observing something I find being told in the Bible, and that it was made for man, is reason for me to observe such, and nothing in the Bible suggesting to me to not do such, or to observe another day instead. So don’t judge me when it is in accordance with my conscience, there isn’t anything legalistic in that. I make choices accordingly and it is not for others to tell me I follow doctrines of devils. That would be judging wrongfully.

Fred,
You said, “so remember the Sabbath and rest on it”. That sounds good to me. I have no problem with that as long as you are not promoting Seventh-day Adventist church doctrines here.
Salvation is all about knowing and serving Jesus Christ every day.
Have a wonderful day and welcome to Christian Chat Network,
David
